Member Show
Thanks to everyone who participated in our Member Show. We got some really interesting and beautiful works of art. The show will be available until Sunday, April 14, so if you haven’t seen it, come by and check it out.
Sunday is also the deadline for bringing in artwork for the regular Spring Show. Member Show artwork that is not picked up by Sunday will be automatically rehung for the Spring Show. Since artists were restricted to 1-2 pieces for the Member Show, you will very likely be able to add an additional piece for this rehang.
Our reception on Friday was wonderful. Not only did we have LOTS of great food, but also two very interesting demonstrators (Elizabeth Smith and Josh Bryant) and two most enjoyable musicians: Jim Kuoni on guitar and David Ousels on violin, members of the Gypsy Jazz Band in Lincoln City. Thanks to all of you for really raising the bar for our receptions.
Later this week I’ll be resending the requirements for the Spring Show. Hope to see you all there.
Art on the Edge Studio Tour
Art on the Edge is a self-guided tour of the studio spaces of well-known artists along the Central Oregon Coast for the weekend of June 28, 29 and 30, 2024. Studios will be open from 11am to 5pm each day.
ASA has participated in the event since it’s inception by opening the classroom to several artists each day who have the opportunity to demonstrate and display their work. If you wish to be a participant, you can sign up online by logging on to the website, going to Members Only in the Dropbox and opening up the Art on the Edge sign-up form. Each artist who participates is also able to display one piece of art in the Chessman Gallery for the duration of the event.
There are six spaces per day for demonstrators and will be assigned on a first come/first served basis so don’t wait too long to capture a space.
