A NOTE FROM KATHY

Hi, Members.
It has been a busy and somewhat confusing time with two hangings just two weeks apart. One of our members let me know that she did not see until Saturday the notice saying that artwork for the Spring Show had to be in the studio by Sunday and did not have time to get anything ready. I'm sorry for that. The last notice did go out later than usual...but it was not the first mention of the Spring rehang requirements. I really, really want to encourage members to read emails and updates that come to your inbox or junk folder under the names Artists' Studio Association, ASA Gallery Coordinator or beachwalkinlady@hotmail.com. This is how we get information out to our members but it's not helpful unless people READ the notices.

There are two other options for you that might be helpful. Ruth is extremely reliable when it comes to getting things on the calendar. If a rehang is coming up (Jan, April, July, Oct), check the calendar and you should find the date of the rehang, due date for artwork, date of the reception, etc.

Lastly, I always say in my instructions that if you are unable to get a piece in by the due date, contact me. Depending on the situation, I try to work with artists so they can get something hung. But I have to know ahead of time!

Thank you to all the artists who participated in the Spring Show. The quality of work in our gallery is amazing.

Thursday Guided Open Studio with Arlon Gilliland

One of our most valued perks for ASA members is here Thursday afternoons!

This Thursday, APRIL 25TH.....Arlon will be hosting his weekly Guided Open Studio in the ASA Classroom.

THIS WEEK WE WILL BE DOING SMALL BOAT TIED TO DOCK IN CALM WATER.

AS A REMINDER, THERE WILL BE NO OPEN STUDIO NEXT THURSDAY DUE TO A SPECIAL CLASS.

THURSDAY'S OPEN STUDIO WILL RESUME ON TH 9TH OF MAY.

HAVE REFERENCE ART

Registration is not required but UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

What is art if you don’t have fun? This is an "Open" explorative, abstract class for all levels where everyone is both student and teacher. Every week will be a different technique or approach, some new, some old, using a variety of mediums and surfaces. Come prepared to play and learn.

Student experience: Beginners are welcome, no experience necessary. This class is for everyone. New processes and new materials with which to experiment!

Comments: This is an open, drop in class.
