What is art if you don’t have fun?  We are certainly going to have fun in this class!  You will learn four different methods to create abstract art using trending new art products.  You will create nine different 8x8 abstract canvases that when hung together will make a collection of fun, colorful adventures in abstract that can be repeated for a lifetime.

 

Student experienceBeginners are welcome, no experience necessary.  This class is for everyone.  New processes and new materials with which to experiment!


Comments: Four Fridays with homework assignments.  A fifth day may be added if the students want to resin over their canvases. 


Materials provided by student: 
Your preferred medium, acrylic, watercolor, oil, etc. Brushes, Pencil, eraser, etc. to sketch your design on canvas, White Gesso, Water container, clean-up wipes, towels, etc.   Any mark making tools, stencils, stamps, etc.  (Instructor will also bring a supply to use)

Materials provided by instructor
10 8"x8" canvases for each student, stencils, stamps, mark making tools, paint markers, felt-tip markers, alcohol inks, markers, collage supplies, gel printing supplies, metallic mica powders, crayons, corner boards for finding abstract images

Class fee for ASA members $80 /Class fee for non-members $100

Minimum: 4 students     Maximum:  12 students

Cancellation Policy:
If a student cancels or withdraws from a class:
One week or more before a class begins, a cancellation fee of $5 for ASA plus the amount required by the instructor will be charged.
Less than one week before a class begins, no refund of registration and materials fees will be made.
If one or more classes in a series are missed due to student absence no refund will be made. Make up sessions may or may not be offered at the discretion of individual instructors.
ASA will make every effort to conduct classes as scheduled. ASA will attempt to remain open during inclement weather. If necessity requires, ASA will cancel classes and studio activities whenever local school closures occur. If ASA cancels a class for any reason: A full refund of class registration and materials fees will be made.
ASA will make every effort to notify students of class cancellations at least one week in advance.
