'Let's  Face It' Charcoal Portraits - September 2, 2025 10am-noon



Class Description: WE WILL EXPLORE CHARCOAL TECHNIQUESTO ACHIEVE LIKENESSES IN LINE AND TONE ON BOTH A PERSON PORTRAIT AND A DOG PORTRAIT. YOU WILL LEARN HOW TO MANIPULATE CHARCOAL WITH BRUSHES AND ERASERS FOR LIFELIKE SKIN TONES AND HAIR.

Materials Student must provide: SOFT GRAPHITE PENCIL HARD GRAPHITE PENCIL BRISTLE BRUSH (CALL INSTRUCTOR)

Materials the Instructor: REFERENCE, PAPER, CHARCOAL, ERASER. FIXATIVE, SANDPAPER

Experience Level: Some experience helpful but not required.

Fee for ASA Members:  $40

Fee for non-Members: $80

Material Fee: Students will pay $15 CASH material fee at the beginning of class
Minimum students: 8, Maximum students: 14

Cancellation Policy:
If a student cancels or withdraws from a class:
One week or more before a class begins, a cancellation fee of $5 for ASA plus the amount required by the instructor will be charged.
Less than one week before a class begins, no refund of registration and materials fees will be made.
If one or more classes in a series are missed due to student absence no refund will be made. Make up sessions may or may not be offered at the discretion of individual instructors.
ASA will make every effort to conduct classes as scheduled. ASA will attempt to remain open during inclement weather. If necessity requires, ASA will cancel classes and studio activities whenever local school closures occur. If ASA cancels a class for any reason: A full refund of class registration and materials fees will be made.
ASA will make every effort to notify students of class cancellations at least one week in advance.
