Greetings ASA artists,

2020 has been quite the momentous year to say the least! We are thankful for all the artists who have continued to be involved (even remotely) with ASA and others who have supported us in various ways as well. Thank you for sticking with us during these odd times!

The board has worked diligently all year to safely keep ASA’s doors open and art on display. After the shutdown, ASA opened its doors over the summer with several safety precautions put in place. While we did not do our annual juried summer show, we've continued to hold quarterly rehangs with the shows “Transfiguration” in the summer and “Perseverance” in the fall. We also participated in an outdoor (limited capacity) summer art market through the Cultural Center’s “Tuesday Night Thing.”

Throughout the year, ASA has closely followed the CDC and state guidelines regarding slowing the spread of COVID-19. We are constantly striving to create a safer environment to foster creativity in our community. That's why we recently started an online Beachstone Gallery Committee in December. (Please email gallerycoordinator@asaart.net if you would like more info or to join).

We hope that we can encourage all of our members to engage more with the website, and in turn with each other through the message boards. ASA is adapting with the changing times and working to improve its online presence.

Art has, and will always be important to one’s health and well-being. Although we have been quarantined and isolated from each other, it’s important to remember there are no limits when it comes to artistic expression and the ways we can still virtually connect. Let’s all continue to inspire each other even if we are not able to do so in person. This pandemic has not been easy for creatives, and many galleries have not been as fortunate as ours. We hope you join us in navigating the choppy waters of 2021, paintbrush in hand!

Don’t forget--our seasonal rehang is this week! The theme is “A New Dawn.” Visit the Beachstone Gallery website to view the guidelines for having art in the show. Please have your art in the gallery no later than Monday evening. Contact the gallery coordinator at gallerycoordinator@asaart.net if you need to make any special arrangements.

    Warmly,
