Thursday Guided Open Studio with Arlon Gilliland
February the 17th
One of our most valued perks for ASA members is here Thursday afternoons! 
This Thursday, February 17th from 1 to 4 pm, Arlon will host his weekly Guided Open Studio in the ASA Classroom.  This week we will be painting a  WATERCOLOR PAINTING WITH ONLY A SPONGE.
Arlon has sample paintings or you can bring in your own photos and ideas to work on. 
 
Registration is not required but currently masks are. Please be prepared to show proof of vaccination.

The winter classes brochure is here, painting, dyeing, mosaic, mixed media, some old favorites and perhaps something new this season.  Brochures can be picked up in the ASA classroom.

 

It's available Click HERE to see the electronic version. You can also go to the Events menu on our website and select Classes and Workshops to see full class details and to reserve your place.  Find Open Studio information listed under Events, Free for Members.  

Classes will fill up fast, so you will want to check out what's coming as soon as it's here.

Art on the Edge Returns

ASA is participating in this year’s Art on the Edge Studio Tour.
ART on the EDGE is a self-guided tour of the studio spaces of well known, coastal visual artists, with over 35 artists, 18 studios, and 25 different mediums represented and ranging in location from Neskowin to Newport and east to Toledo, Oregon. These artists will show off their exclusive locations, demonstrate their creative processes and sell their work.
This year’s studio tour occurs on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday which is May 20, 21 and 22.

A limited number of ASA members may participate as part of the ASA Group spot on the tour.
The artist demonstration time slots are from 10:00am – 1:00pm and from 1:00pm – 4:00p each day.
If you are interested in being one of the demonstrating artists inside the ASA classroom, you can sign yourself up for one spot, based upon availability.  The deadline for signing up via the ASA website is February 16th at 5:00pm.
Follow these steps to be added to the ASA schedule: 
Go to:
·       Log into the ASA website using your member user name and password
·       Click on the MEMBERS ONLY dropdown
·       Select VOLUNTEER NOW
·       Click the Green Hand = Volunteer Yourself, located across from Art on the Edge Studio Tour.
There may be an opportunity for the above participating ASA artists to include a piece of their artwork (as part of the ASA group) in the Chessman Gallery exhibit.  Individual membership with the Chessman gallery and other requirements may apply.
