Supplies to Consider Bringing
- Tools to make marks: pottery or dental tools, tools used for scratch art, etc. (I use a razor blade...and find it can make every mark I need...but some students like to experiment with other mark making tools)
- Printed images that you might want to use. I will have lots of photos to share, cows, chickens, sparrows, flowers, etc. so there is no need to bring anything but you are welcome to do so if you like.
- Select a black and white image with a strong value range. The subject (the chicken or cow, etc.) of your image should be no larger than 6x6 to fit onto an 8x 8 panel. Smaller is ok, but 6x6 will have a better impact. Keep it simple…ie one chicken , 3 ducklings, 1 sparrow on a branch, etc. This is an example of a black and white photo with strong value contrast. See the example below
Wear clothes that can get stained or bring an apron. India/Sumi Ink stains
