THIS CLASS STARTS at 1:30 PM starting at 2/13/24
We explore the basics of acrylic painting. Whether you are a beginner or intermediate, you will learn to create stunning, fun images.
Prep day for Assemblage Workshop
In this class we will create protection shrines known traditionally as the Eye of Fatima or Hamsas. We will explore various sculptural and painting techniques.
You are invited to our casual evening reception welcoming celebrated international assemblage artist, Michael deMeng.
See the in-progress workshop and get inspired!
Snacks, wine, coffee and great conversation.
Michael is teaching a special 4 day assemblage art workshop here at the Artists Studio Association (ASA) classroom/gallery. This is Michael’s third visit with us and we hope he will return again next year.
DeMeng utilizes discarded items for his shrine-like works and creatures. Scrap metal, old appliances, or miscellaneous objects that would typically be considered ‘junk’ are transformed into pieces of beauty and meaning.
Describing his art as “a form of rebirth from the ashes into new life and new meaning. These assemblages are metaphors for the evolutions and revolutions of existence...the forms are examinations of the world in perpetual flux, where meaning and function are ever- changing.”
See you there!
