About this event
NEOCOLOR™ II AQUARELLE crayons by Caran d'Ache are more than an accent for watercolor paintings. These versatile tools can be used to accent, build, or enhance works of all water-soluble mediums.
Join Tara Choate as she covers techniques for NEOCOLOR™ II AQUARELLE crayons as well as ideas for starting backgrounds, exploring meaning, and making your painting more personal.
Supply List
1. Paper: Students should come to class with lots of watercolor appropriate paper, but it does not have to be pristine. Students are encouraged to gesso over old paintings and bring those along for practice and/or building backgrounds. Surfaces DO NOT have to be large. In fact, in working out this class, I have been working on a large set of cardstock cards (I couldn't find watercolor cards in local stores). If you have cards, I would suggest bringing them. Please bring at least one painting that you think needs enhancement. A sketchbook could also be valuable. I will provide a couple paper samples for various exercises. But it is important that you bring LOTS of paper. You can work on anything from construction paper to Bristol board to watercolor paper. But bring LOTS of surfaces. I don't want you to run out and purchase a bunch of things, I just want you to adequately papered. If you've taken one of my classes before, you know there are lots of exercises. I have about 12 prepared for this class.
2. While students are welcome to bring their own art crayons, there is no need to purchase NEOCOLOR™ II AQUARELLE crayons. I'll provide the crayons if you don't have them. They can be spendy, so don't run out and purchase unless that's just what you want to do.
3. Brushes (1 large, 1 medium, 1 small)
4. Magic eraser
5. Watercolor paint (helpful, but not required)
6. Pencil
7. Reference photos if you want. I will have shells out for inspiration.
