Tara Choate will demonstrate acrylic marbling on paper, then guide participants through their own marbling experiments.

Schedule:

9-10:30 - set up and mordant
10:30-11:00 - lecture
11-12 - demo
12-1 - marbling onto paper
1-2 - lunch / marbling
2-3 - marbling with emphasis on particular designs
3-4 - over marbling on paintings
4-5 - clean up, gather up

If class is very full, participation may be in groups.

Participants should NOT wear anything they want to keep clean. This is a VERY messy process.

Students should bring a pencil, a large (clean) paintbrush, and any surfaces they would like to marble.

Participants will be provided with some paper, but wet-strength tissue paper and rice papers are particularly nice to bring home (bring some.) Other fund options are maps or old book papers.

Due to the amount of equipment and cost of chemicals, this class will be priced higher than other day-long classes by Tara.
