February Featured Artist:
Denise McGoldrick | |
Denise McGoldrick (DMcG) paints to evoke feelings of wonder and nostalgia. She wants to remind children and adults of the power of imagination and the joy of experiencing the world through a bright imaginative lens.
The realistic style of her subjects is set in fantastical, imaginative settings much like the creativity seen in children’s artworks. She invites viewers into worlds both familiar and extraordinary.
Denise uses acrylics harness the bold, saturated colors of her imagination. This captures a vibrant, immediate energy to draw the viewer into her world.

| | Hello Fellow Artists,
The January art reception was a great success! Approximately 80 visitors and artist attended. Thank you to all of the volunteers that arranged the artwork. We received many positive comments.

ASA member and artist, Susan Dietz demonstrated the creation of her beautiful art journals. Inquisitive attendees gathered around her table to observe and learn about her techniques. Anyone interested in learning about her art should contact her.
-
Thank you to those that contributed to the food bank. To support our community, the food donation box will remain inside the gallery during all events.
-
Housekeeping items: Please come and pick up previously hung artwork. Space is limited in the utility room, but more importantly, the potential for damage increases each day it remains there. Unclaimed art will become donations toward the ASA roof fund.

As new Gallery Coordinators, Olivia Longley and Leslie Olesen are humbled to serve in this role and will build upon the success that Kathy established.

Creatively yours,
Olivia Longley | | | April 17-19: Raise the Roof Garage Sale | |
In April, ASA will be having our third annual Raise the Roof Garage Sale in conjunction with the city-wide garage sale. Proceeds going toward a new roof.
History
The first year we held our garage sale, we were pleased to bring in just under $300. Last year, we were ecstatic to bring in over $2000, due entirely to the enthusiastic support from our membership who inundated us with interesting stuff for our sale. We’d like to try to beat that this year. Every little bit helps.
Donating Items
If you have an item you would like to donate, consider whether it might be appropriate for our garage sale. We’ll take just about anything that is in decent condition. No clothing.
Bring items to the studio and put them on the counter of the ramp room. Please advise Kathy Cope about the addition so she can pick the items up and keep the area uncluttered. Alternatively, let Kathy know and she can come pick things up.
If you’re donating an odd or unusual tool that might not be familiar to the rest of us, please attach a little note saying what it is and what it’s used for. We have a couple of things from last year that I’ve still not ever figured out, but it’s been fun trying.
Work Area Impact
In preparation for the upcoming garage sale, the counter in the ramp room has been cleaned off so that people can bring their donations in and leave them there. If you place something on the counter and leave it unlabeled, it will likely be taken away and packed up for the sale. If you must leave something there, be sure and put your name on it so that it doesn’t end up getting sold!
