Artists' Studio Association Gallery

The Artists' Studio Association is a community art center and a gathering place dedicated to arts education. We offer classes, workshops and informal gatherings for artists of all levels and ages.

Gallery Display

In addition to these services, ASA allows its members to display (and sell) their art in the Artists' Studio Gallery. Active ASA members can pay an annual $20 for "display privileges".
Some 3-D artwork may be displayed with the help of the gallery coordinator, but in general members may display one-to-three pieces, depending on size.

  • One painting up to size 24’X36”;
  • Two paintings up to size 16’X20” each; or
  • Three paintings up to 9’X12”.
Artwork is changed out quarterly (January, April, July, and October). Email reminders are sent out to remind members to bring in new artwork. There is a joint reception with the Pacific Artists' Co-Op Gallery (the front gallery) the first Friday after the rehang.

ASA GALLERY GUIDELINES

Art Display Requirements

  • D-hooks and picture wire are required to hang on all artwork to be hanged.
  • A release form needs to be filled out, signed, and filed in a binder.
  • Back tags: All art must have a small back tag attached to the back. This back tag is used to track art and, ultimately, to pay artists. There are specific requirements for information (Artist Name, Title of Art, Medium, Price) and size for these tags. Failure to use the correct tag may result in sales not going through due to lack of information.
  • All art, including cards and art in bins, must be at least $6.00 in order to meet processing fees.
  • Wall tags: In addition to the back tags, a title card must be placed with each artwork. This is so gallery visitors can see relevant information about your work, including the price, without having to handle the art.

Payment

The Pacific Artists' Co-Op Gallery, in the front of the building, processes all sales for the Artists' Studio Gallery. They provide a payment to ASA for all art sold within five days of the end of the month. ASA then has to do some accounting, which can take a few weeks.

When you sell your artwork at ASA, 20% commission is paid to the Pacific Artists' Gallery for handling the art, taking payment, and bubble wrapping or boxing. This is so ASA does not have to hire a full-time employee to do this for us.

Volunteering with the Gallery Display Team

Would you like to be a part of the Artists' Studio Gallery display team? Refreshing the gallery, hosting openings and maintaining the exhibits can be inspiring and rewarding.
