The Artists' Studio Association (ASA) focuses on activities around our mission: community, art education, and fun. ASA owns the building the classroom is housed in, and rents the front half of the building to the Pacific Artists' Co-Op Gallery who share our commitment to art.
To give our members a place to exhibit and sell their art, without the commitments required to belong in the Pacific Artists' Co-Op Gallery, ASA allows members to display pieces throughout the classroom space. The Pacific Artists' Co-Op Gallery processes all sales for the Artists' Studio Gallery.
ASA Gallery Display
Active ASA members can pay an annual $20 for gallery display privileges. Members may display cards, flat bin art, and one-to-three wall pieces, depending on size:
- One painting up to size 24’X36”;
- Two paintings up to size 16’X20” each; or
- Three paintings up to 9’X12”.
Some 3-D artwork may be displayed with the help of the gallery coordinator.
Art Requirements
ASA GALLERY GUIDELINES
To be displayed in the ASA Gallery, art must meet the following requirements:
- Pieces must be presented to the best of the artist's ability and look professional.
- A release form needs to be filled out, signed, and filed in a binder.
- All art, including cards and art in bins, must be at least $6.00 in order to meet processing fees.
- Back tags: All art must have a small tag attached to the back of the piece.
-
This back tag is used to track art and, ultimately, to pay artists.
- There are specific requirements for information (Artist Name, Title of Art, Medium, Price) and size for these tags.
- Failure to use the correct tag may result in sales being declined.

Framed Art
- D-hooks and picture wire are required. No sawtooth hooks.
- Wall tags: In addition to the back tags, a title card must be placed with each artwork.
- This is so gallery visitors can see relevant information about your work, including the price, without having to handle the art.
Bin Art
- Ten black canvas bins are located around the classroom.
- Each bin houses four artists, arranged alphabetically.
- Artists may display up to ten (10) pieces of flat art.
- Artists wishing to display larger pieces may be asked to reduce the number of pieces displayed.
- Art must not be more than 24" in any given direction, including the mat.
- Art must not be more than 1/4" thick including all necessary packaging.
- Art must be in clear, acrylic bags.
- Each artist may create and display a "bin bio" at the front of their bin area.

Gallery Changes and Receptions
Artwork is changed out quarterly (January, April, July, and October). Email reminders are sent out to remind members to bring in new artwork. There is a joint reception with the Pacific Artists' Co-Op Gallery after the rehang.
Payment
The Pacific Artists' Co-Op Gallery, in the front of the building, processes all sales for the Artists' Studio Gallery. They take a 20% commission, which covers credit card fees and packaging. Pacific Artists Co-Op Gallery pays ASA monthly, by the fifth of each month. ASA then has to do some accounting, which can take a few weeks.
Gallery Display Team
Like everything ASA does, the Gallery is run by volunteers. If you would like to be a part of the Artists' Studio Gallery display team, contact the Gallery Coordinator (below). Duties include refreshing the gallery, hosting openings, and maintaining the exhibits.
