This is a 1 day class; July 12, 2025 10:30am to 4:00pm
| We will have a full day playing with fabric collage techniques, exploring texture, layering paints, decorating with hand stitches, and learning composition in mixed media. You will begin by painting your canvas board in ocean tones, building your scene on top in bits & bobs.. Next, you will create the fabric backing, layering textures, sewing stitches, attaching it to your canvas, and building your underwater world with 3-D fun ideas. |
The instructor will supply: Collage medium & cups glue sponge brushes bits and bobs of specialty fabrics silk from silk cocoons beads needle Various thread weights and colors for hand stitches ribbons & yarns Fabric stiffener for 3-D creatures Wax paper/parchment paper....... "My entire sewing stock room"
Students: An apron or "old get stained" clothing. Scissors, not your precious fabric ones, just good crafting ones. If you have a 1/2" old paintbrush for the glue medium. Specialty lightweight fabric to add to the sharing
Expected ability Level: Beginners welcome, no experience necessary.
