JUST A NOTE ABOUT ART ON THE EDGE

Art on the Edge finished up WELL and, from this demonstrator's point of view, it was pretty successful. Although there were slow times, we did have people in the studio each day and they seemed to enjoy both watching the artists work and talking with them about their work. As part of my demonstration, I offer to let folks  do a small acrylic pour. This has been popular every year I've offered it and they kept me hopping today. It's really enjoyable to watch people's faces when they finally lift up that flip cup and see their colors swirling, combining and producing all those cells and patterns. I'd really like to encourage folks to give some thought to an audience participation activity that they could incorporate into their demonstration in future years... something quick and simple that even those folks who insist they don't have an artistic bone in their bodies could accomplish.

Thank you to Ruth for coordinating this event between the Cultural Center and ASA (and for the Reese's Peanut Butter Cups!). I think a lot of people really enjoyed it.
