TOTEMS - INTRO TO ART THERAPY TECHNIQUES

Sunday January 26th, 1 to 3:30 pm

Participants will learn an art therapy technique using air dry clay. Students will learn the use of totems for important life events and their therapeutic benefit. They will also learn some basic clay techniques and be provided with tools to use. Participants will make a personal totem to take home.  


Materials students should provide: 

Students must wear clothes they are okay with getting dirty, or provide their own apron. No additional materials are needed. Students may choose to paint their totems with nail polish or acrylic paint at home once they are dry.

Materials provided by the instructor: 

Air dry clay, clay tools

 

Fee: $20 for ASA members and $25 for non-members.  

Expected ability Level: No experience required

 

Number of Students: Minimum 2 / Maximum 16

Cancellation Policy:
If a student cancels or withdraws from a class:
One week or more before a class begins, a cancellation fee of $5 for ASA plus the amount required by the instructor will be charged.
Less than one week before a class begins, no refund of registration and materials fees will be made.
If one or more classes in a series are missed due to student absence no refund will be made. Make up sessions may or may not be offered at the discretion of individual instructors.
ASA will make every effort to conduct classes as scheduled. ASA will attempt to remain open during inclement weather. If necessity requires, ASA will cancel classes and studio activities whenever local school closures occur. If ASA cancels a class for any reason: A full refund of class registration and materials fees will be made.
ASA will make every effort to notify students of class cancellations at least one week in advance.
