Tin Man’s Heart: Just in time for Valentines Day, create a small tin shrine while exploring polymer clay as the basis for mixed media art. Design and fashion a miniature artwork using clay, textures, acrylic paint, mica powder and “doodads”. Incorporate your small doodads as focal points (Metal, glass, wood, paper, ceramic, jewelry fragments). Tools/Materials are provided for classroom use, including 2 x 2 oz packages of Sculpey III and a small hinged tin box. “…If I only had a heart.”
Students to provide: additional 2 x 2 oz packages of Sculpey III or Premo clay in students choice of color(s). Bring a selection of small doodads to be used as focal points (Metal, glass, wood, paper, ceramic, jewelry fragments). A $10 materials fee per student is to be paid in cash to instructor at beginning of class.

Small hinged tin box substrate for project which students will take home. 2 x 2 oz packages of Sculpey III clay. A wide variety of tools and other materials (mica powders, glue, texture stamps, stencils, clay cutters and clay ovens) available to students for use during class workshop.
Expected ability Level: Beginners welcome, no experience necessary.
