This is a 1 day class


Plein air painting or painting outdoors, is a wonderful experience that many people are too intimidated to try.   Catherine will help you get started with the inexpensive necessities and basic instruction for a travel kit.  Students will complete a small painting in class, and can go on a free follow up painting session on location. 

Materials the student is to provide:  Notepad, Sketching pencil and brushes.  Additional (optional) supplies will be available to purchase from the instructor.


Materials to be provided by the instructor:  Paint, surface, palette with half pans, examples of plein air set ups with pochade boxes.

Materials fee:  $5.00 to be paid in class

Expected ability Level: Beginners welcome, some experience is helpful but not required.

Class fee for ASA members:

Cancellation Policy:
If a student cancels or withdraws from a class:
One week or more before a class begins, a cancellation fee of $5 for ASA plus the amount required by the instructor will be charged.
Less than one week before a class begins, no refund of registration and materials fees will be made.
If one or more classes in a series are missed due to student absence no refund will be made. Make up sessions may or may not be offered at the discretion of individual instructors.
ASA will make every effort to conduct classes as scheduled. ASA will attempt to remain open during inclement weather. If necessity requires, ASA will cancel classes and studio activities whenever local school closures occur. If ASA cancels a class for any reason: A full refund of class registration and materials fees will be made.
ASA will make every effort to notify students of class cancellations at least one week in advance.
