This is a 1 day class


Explore polymer clay as the basis for mixed media art. Condition, manipulate and alter the clay using a variety of tools and techniques.  Create an expressive, personal journal cover using clay, textures, acrylic paint, mica powder and doodads.


Students:  4-5 blocks of 2oz Sculpey clay in color(s) of artist’s choice. Assortment of collage papers for embellishment of inside covers. Bring a selection of small metal, wood or glass doodads – optional.

Instructor:  Clay ovens for use, 1 appropriately sized journal, acrylic paints, stencils, stamps, clay tools, glues, mod podge, brushes, and an assortment of embellishments aka Doodads.

Material Fee:  $10.00 material fee to be paid to instructor during class.


Expected ability Level: Beginners welcome, some experience helpful.


Class fee for ASA members: $65

Class fee for non-members: $70

Number of Students: Minimum 4 / Maximum 8

Cancellation Policy:
If a student cancels or withdraws from a class:
One week or more before a class begins, a cancellation fee of $5 for ASA plus the amount required by the instructor will be charged.
Less than one week before a class begins, no refund of registration and materials fees will be made.
If one or more classes in a series are missed due to student absence no refund will be made. Make up sessions may or may not be offered at the discretion of individual instructors.
ASA will make every effort to conduct classes as scheduled. ASA will attempt to remain open during inclement weather. If necessity requires, ASA will cancel classes and studio activities whenever local school closures occur. If ASA cancels a class for any reason: A full refund of class registration and materials fees will be made.
ASA will make every effort to notify students of class cancellations at least one week in advance.
